- AJ French requested that the 4th Thursday of the month generally does not work
- Discussion of Survey and Community Feedback/Networking Event with Representatives from Northwestern CORNERS and DHS Office of Firearm Violence Prevention
- Co-Chair Camper reminded the committee of its charge to: \
- Gather key lessons learned and trends from times of crisis impacting Illinoisans.
- Identify potential gaps in programs, services, and coordination and recommendations for improving IDHS' preparedness for future emergencies.
- Draw on relevant evidence-based approaches and models to suggest improvements to specific policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Bring forth community concerns to inform development of effective quality measures, performance indicators, and evaluation methods that are person-centered and equitable.
- Survey from CRED and CORNERS discussion
- Quiwana Bell provided some context on OFVP's efforts to engage RPSA grantees.
- Research partner UIC has already developed a survey that is similar to the one from CORNERS. OFVP is happy to share those results with the SSAC for their feedback.
- OFVP also hosts a monthly meeting with grantees to solicit their input.
- SSAC members are welcome to join the meetings.
- Mary Camper was not aware of these efforts by OFVP, the committee has been aiming to fulfill their charge with the survey and community event efforts.
- Northwestern CORNERS was commissioned to do the survey to identify funding and administrative-related concerns from RPSA grantees.
- Quiwana Bell shared that the goal of the UIC-developed survey is to hear from grantees on how they can best supported by OFVP
- Live Survey Walk Through
- Reshma Desai clarified that the communities targeted for the survey of RPSA grantees are only RPSA community areas
- Program Implementation Challenges
- AJ French pointed out that systemic barriers, bureaucracy are a challenge to program implementation.
- Mary Camper and Reshma Desai agreed with this statement.
- Katie Pelech from Northwestern CORNERS suggested adding an option like "Challenges related to external program referrals (e.g., availability of or access to outside services when participants are referred for services outside my organization)"
- Earl Granberry asked Reshma Desai asked is the UIC survey also includes the same questions as those developed by UIC. Reshma Desai offered to follow up after closer review.
- Jodi Martin asked if it is possible to shorten the survey at all
- The committee reviewed the remainder of the survey and did not have any feedback.
