Q&A (25-444-22-2616-01) 215 Housing First PSH

  1. Q:  If under the HUD Homeless definition if you are using category 4 for domestic violence as well.

A:  Yes, HUD's definition of homelessness includes (4) individuals and families who are fleeing, or are attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or other dangerous or life-threatening conditions that relate to violence against the individual or a family member. Please keep in mind that those meeting the definition of currently homeless must also be PATH Program participants - grantee or partner must be currently providing contract services under the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Program as a requirement for eligibility for Program 215.

  2. Q: I noticed that this grant has changed from a non-competitive grant application to a competitive grant application. Could you confirm that this has gone to a competitive process? And if so, are there any plans in place for providers like Cornerstone who have several people in PSH that this would affect if we were not funded this grant cycle?

A:  Program 215 Housing First PSH was first competitively bid for FY22 services. FY23 and FY24 were the two one-year renewals so this is a competitive year for FY25. Since this is a competitive opportunity, if a current grantee is not awarded this grant for FY25 we will have discussions to create a plan for individuals.
