  • Member Discussion:
    • Dr. Markul: Matrix says that were some questions whether the risk matrix was immutable, but now it sounds like there the regions will have some say so on what the risk matrix looks like for each individual region. So that's where that is at. Does anyone have any comments or question on what has been going on since then? I know it's been a long time since we last met. I just want to make sure that people understand that it's due to circumstances that I have no control of as to why we have not been moving forward. Any questions from anybody as far as filling out that risk matrix?
    • Dr. Markul: They want us as regions to fill out what our current capabilities are. That is something that I could fill out without input since I already know what we should respond to base on that risk matrix. This will not be what the risk matrix looks like in the future, but currently with our current responses, and eventually once these visioning exercises are done, we get some more direction from the state. We'll be able to move on in a more productive way and figure out what the work of, CESSA looks like for this region. Does anyone have any questions? Otherwise, this is going to be a super short meeting. I just want to give an update on why we haven't been meeting and what is happening at a state level.
    • Nestor Flores: I suppose my question is what is our role? What power do we have if, if any, to recommend things, policies? Is that what's being vision boarded, whether we continue with the committee, et cetera, et cetera?
    • Dr. Markul: I wish I could answer that. I'm not sure after this, what this is going to look like. I, think that according to the rules, we need to have these regional advisor committees. I wish I could answer your question more concretely. I don't know what the marching orders will be after they conclude their exercise.
  • Nestor Flores: I guess that's why it's going to be a short meeting.
  • Dr. Markul: That's why it's going to be a short meeting. Ultimately, I must get guidance from the state on what work we need to do here. I'm not getting concrete directions from the state on what we need to be doing here as such, that's why we haven't met and that's why it's going to be a short meeting today. Appreciate it.
  • Nestor Flores: Thank you. That was very clear. Appreciate it. Thank you.
  • Dr. Markul: Alright, anyone else have any other questions? Basically, to summarize, once I get direction on what the state needs from us, if it is appropriate to continue to convene meetings, we will do so. I appreciate that everyone, who showed up today just to log on. But once I get directions and, and a clear vision of what we need to be doing, then we will reengage. I am certainly hoping I will get some direction shortly from the state, but as of now, this is just an informational update on what has been going on why we haven't been meeting, and hopefully we will have a plan moving forward soon. I appreciate you logging on for just a few minutes and hopefully we'll be re-engaging the future in a more productive and fruitful way. Thank you.

Motion to Adjourn called by Dr. Markul at 1:10 pm.
