PM 08-04-01-f: Training Programs

WAG 08-04-01-f.

Income from the following training programs is budgeted as nonexempt earned income.

  • Training allowances from vocational and rehabilitation programs recognized by Federal, state, or local governments, such as the Adult Conservation Corps (ACC), that are not exempt as a reimbursement.
  • New TextPayments received from the Veterans Administration Incentive Therapy (IT) Program, which includes the Compensated Work Therapy Program (CWT), is considered nonexempt earned income from a training program.
  • Payments received under Title I (Vista, University Year for Action, etc.) of the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, not exempted in PM 08-04-04-v.
  • Income received from an on-the-job training program funded under section 204(b)(1)(C) or section 264(c)(1)(A) of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is nonexempt earned income, unless the person is under age 19 and under the parental control of an adult unit member; then it is exempt.
