COVID-19 Mitigation Supplies Available Again in FY24

Information about COVID-19 Supplies Available during FY24

The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is pleased to inform you of this renewed opportunity to obtain coronavirus disease (COVID-19) mitigation supplies during state fiscal year 2024 at no cost! This opportunity is only available to organizations receiving this notice.

With funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to support COVID-19 mitigation efforts, IDHS continues to offer supplies to protect and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment centers, recovery homes and recovery support programs. This project supports the purchase and distribution of COVID-19 abatement supplies and makes them available to all IDHS/SUPR funded and/or licensed organizations.

Organizations funded by IDHS/SUPR and DMH are also eligible to obtain resources. Prevention First, an IDHS/SUPR grantee, administers this project and serves as the "hub" for organizations to access COVID-19 abatement supplies at no cost using an online ordering system called Shopify.

Benefits of Ordering Supplies

IDHS/SUPR reminds organizations that these supplies can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and may also assist you address respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), various influenza viruses, and other viruses that cause the common cold. Taking steps to reduce transmission is essential to providing a safe and healthy work environment. This can result in staff using fewer sick days and limiting their time away from work. Sick employees are often less productive, and it also creates a risk for patients, clients, and residents.

Conversely, staff interact with patients, clients, and residents in-person and this poses a risk to them. By providing supplies, it equips your organization with mitigating risks.

Below is a list of the supplies your organization can order to address needs.

  • Diagnostic Testing: instant COVID-19 self-testing kits
  • Personal Protective Equipment: equipment such as masks, gloves, and face shields worn to minimize exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.
  • Sanitation Equipment: products such as disinfectant solvents and gloves.
  • Mobile Air Purification Systems: used in small to mid-sized rooms for those organizations providing in-person group visits/activities.

Organizations initially received a specific allocation for FY23, predetermined by IDHS/SUPR, that was loaded into their Shopify accounts. For FY24, IDHS/SUPR organizations can order as many supplies as needed on a first come, first serve basis. These supplies will be available until FY24 resources have been depleted or the deadline to order has been reached.

You can log into your current Shopify account to order FY24 supplies. If this is your first order, please follow the instructions to set up your Shopify account. If you need assistance logging in or have questions regarding this project, please contact Prevention First at covidmitigation@prevention.org  . The deadline to order FY24 supplies is Friday, June 7, 2025. This deadline is subject to change depending on the number of supplies available and participation.

We are excited to share this opportunity with you and appreciate your efforts to maintain a COVID-safe environment as you provide services to Illinois residents.
