590 Credentials - Nannette Larson
- All MCRTs are required to have Crisis Counselor(s), Engagement Specialist, and Team Supervisor
- Minimum requirements for Crisis Counselor Position
- Mental Health Professionals (MHP), LPHA, QMHP, LCSW
- Engagement Specialist
- Individuals with lived experience
- Capable of CRSS within one year of date of hire
- 100 Hours of training, 100 hours of supervision, 2000 hours of paid qualified work or volunteer work within the last four years
- CPRS: 100 Hours of training, 100 hours of supervision, 2000 hours of paid qualified work or volunteer work within the last four years
- Pooja Nagpal: It sounds like a CRSS could be put into the category of a crisis counselor and an engagement specialist. When it comes to an actual van in the community, are you saying the van could have 2 CRSS's and not require a social worker or other licensed professional in the van?
- Nannette: The expectation is that the organization has a team that includes a crisis counselor and an engagement specialist. The CRSS's is one path to certification, but still requires a crisis counselor performing the duties of a crisis counselor. The engagement specialist is a person able to obtain a CRSS or CPRS but acting as an engagement specialist.
- Vote on credentials: Michelle Churchy-Mims moves motion to approve credentials for the 590 providers as submitted today, seconded by Greg Atteberry. Approved by Michelle, Churchy-Mims, Greg Atteberry, Cindy Barbera-Brelle, and Pooja Nagpal. Abstain by Nannette Larson. Motion passes and approved.
