    • Lisa gave updates: The Division of Mental Health applied for and was one of 6 states awarded participation in the The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Authority, Policy Academy and Learning Collaborative on Supported Employment for Transition Age Youth. The Academy begins with an in-person event scheduled to take place June 20-22, 2023. Illinois is sending a team of individuals representing IDHS/DMH, IDHS/DOR, and ISBE. The attendees will then be responsible for the dissemination of information back to the statewide team that will result in the design and implementation of the state plan for expanding supported employment and education in Illinois to transition age youth. Did you know that Illinois is a National Leader in the area of Individual Placement and Support/Supported Employment (IPS) for adults and struggles to engage and meet the needs of transition age youth. IPS is a supported employment/supported education team-based service for individuals with a diagnosis of a serious emotional disturbance or a serious mental illness. Illinois has 51 statewide teams who serve an average of 3,300 individuals per year. However, only one of those teams focuses on transition age youth serving 35 young adults in Chicago over the past year. Lisa provided link to CRSS-YA information-https://iaodapca.org/Portals/0/PDF/CRSS-YoungAdultEndorsement-Model.pdf and https://iaodapca.org/Portals/0/PDF/CRSS-YoungAdultEndorsment-Application.pdf
    • Question raised of the role of CCBHCs and children's programs as well as how the state agencies are coordinating? DMH noted they are a part of the interagency team and there is a plan for stakeholder involvement. The group discussed the importance of ensuring that CMH system needs to be intentionally explored in model development and cost reporting.
