Contributions from responsible and non-responsible relatives are nonexempt income. If the responsible relative is living in the home, their income is not a contribution, but is used based on what type of income it is, i.e. earned
income.
Child Support Payments (AABD Medical)
For children under age 19 receiving AABD Medical and earmarked child support from absent parents, disregard up to $50 per month of the child support when determining initial or ongoing eligibility. The $50 disregard of child support is a pass through
to the client.
Excess Child Support
Excess child support refunded to a client by the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) is budgeted as nonexempt unearned income.
