Summary of Special Meeting of IMHPAC Council to discuss the Development of the Biennial Mental Health Block Grant Plan

The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health invited all members of the Illinois Mental Health Planning Council(IMHPAC) to the first of two planned public meetings to discuss the development of the biennial Mental Health Block Grant Plan for the state of Illinois. The meeting was also announced through the IDHS/DMH Communication Alert system. The following is a record of attendance:

Discussion was facilitated by Lee Ann Reinert, State Block Grant Planner and Deputy Director of Policy, Planning and Innovation for IDHS/DMH, and Irwin Kerzner, Assistant Block Grant Planner for IDHS/DMH. Attendees were informed that the state has not yet received the template from SAMHSA for the plan, which is due to be submitted by September 1, 2023. In lieu of that template, members and attendees were presented with a draft based on previous years submissions.
Public comment was also received.

A second meeting is planned for an undetermined date in June, pending receipt of the plan template from SAMHSA. IMHPAC Members will be invited and public notice will be given for that meeting in the same way it was provided for this meeting.
No official actions were taken by IMHPAC, as this was not a regular business meeting.
