Career Options for Recovery Support Specialists in Various Programs in Illinois .
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
  • Explain how the core values of recovery support can apply to a variety of work environments
  • Identify possible employment opportunities available with the CRSS & CPRS credentials in Illinois
  • Describe various tasks that a Recovery Support Specialist could potentially perform across diverse programs
Understanding Vicarious Trauma and its Effects on Recovery Support Specialists
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
  • Identify signs and risk factors of vicarious trauma
  • Assess our own levels of vicarious trauma
  • Differentiate methods for self-care when dealing with vicarious trauma

SESSION 2: June 23, 25, 27

Crisis Intervention Strategies for Recovery Support Specialists .
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
  • Define what is a crisis
  • Identify ways to help others in crisis
  • Practice finding options and choices for those in crisis 
  • Determine the value of self-care while caring for others
CRSS/CPRS Panel, Part 1
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
  • Identify some career options for recovery support specialists in various program environments in Illinois
  • Discuss the effects of vicarious trauma on recovery support specialists
  • Describe a variety of crisis intervention strategies for recovery support specialists
