Children's Residential Waiver Amendment Update

Dear Stakeholders:

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is thrilled to announce that today, Friday, December 16, 2022, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the Waiver Amendment for the Children's Residential Waiver, effective January 1, 2023.

As a reminder, this Waiver Amendment includes the following:

  • Rate increases for children's group homes (CGHs) to achieve parity with the CGHs under the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS); and
  • Revises the Restraint and Restrictive Intervention sections.

The DDD has now received approval for the waiver amendments for all three DDD Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers (Children's Support Waiver, Adults with Developmental Disabilities Waiver and now Children's Residential Waiver).

Thank you!

Interim Director, Division of Developmental Disabilities
