HFS POSTS HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY SITES

Last week, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) published a Public Notice of all Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Settings Rule Heightened Scrutiny sites. HFS is seeking public comment on these Heightened Scrutiny sites. Public comments may be submitted between today, October 28, 2022, and November 27, 2022. Comments may be submitted as follows:

Email: HFS.SWTransitionPlan@illinois.gov
Mail: The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services
Attn: Waiver Management
201 South Grant Ave East, FL 2
Springfield, IL 62763

Please note: Stakeholders are welcome to submit comments generally regarding heightened scrutiny sites or about specific sites, but organizations DO NOT need to submit comments to share what they are doing in their compliance action plans or regarding their specific sites. CMS requires the state to post general information about types of heightened scrutiny sites, process of validation, list of sites and examples of compliance action steps being taken to address any compliance issues at those types of sites. Due to privacy, residential sites are only posted by organization, city and zip code.
