About the IORAB
The Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board serves as a sub-committee to the Governor's Opioid Prevention and Recovery Steering Committee (Committee).
The Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board makes advisory recommendations to the Committee regarding the use of the 55% of settlement proceeds that are allocated to the Illinois Opioid Remediation Trust Fund (Fund). The funds must be used for forward-looking opioid abatement core strategies to combat the overdose epidemic as established in the Illinois Opioid Allocation Agreement (Agreement). These opioid core abatement strategies align with recommendations in the State Overdose Action Plan (SOAP) pdf a comprehensive, equity-centric outline for combatting the opioid epidemic. The Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board will seek to ensure an equitable allocation of resources to all parts of the State. Additional information and funding opportunities are available at the Illinois Opioid Settlements Initiative.
The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (IDHS/DBHR) will be transparent and accountable for using the opioid settlement funds by annually publishing a report of settlement funds received and distributed. The report will be accessible through the IDHS/DBHR IORAB website.
