SUBJECT: Illinois WIC Vendor Notice 22-10 - Temporary Additions to Formulas - International Products

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced intentions to exercise enforcement discretion on a case-by-case basis for certain requirements that apply to infant formula, until November 14, 2022. This action is designed to increase infant formula supplies in the United States while protecting the health of infants.
To continue to maximize availability of infant formula products that can be purchased with Illinois WIC benefits, three lines of international formula products have been added to the temporary infant formula list and include the following. A complete listing of the additional products is attached.
Illinois recommends that vendors work with their infant formula suppliers to determine which of these formulas can be distributed in Illinois WIC stores. If you will be able to stock any of these formulas in your stores, we would appreciate you letting us know at DHS.WICVendor@illinois.gov so we can help direct our participants appropriately.
