Description
The Committees of the Social Services Advisory Council (SSAC) will identify shared priorities related to the coordination, improvement, and innovation of Illinois Department of Human Services offices and services. Specifically The Response, Recovery, and Innovation Committee will:
- Recommend consistent outreach and engagement channels for IDHS to learn from and center priorities of grassroots stakeholders representing impacted communities.
- Identify promising practices to center and engage community member voices, drawing on models of diverse stakeholders and other states.
- Bring forth community concerns, interests, and goals to inform relevant IDHS policies, legislation, and budget priorities.
- Collaborate with IDHS to recommend strategies for increasing public understanding and equitable access to IDHS services and supports, especially for hard-to-reach populations.
- Raise equity, racial justice, diversity, and inclusion issues of concern to the leadership team of IDHS.
