988 Planning Key Stakeholder Coalition Information

The Illinois Key Stakeholder Coalition will serve as an advisory group for the IDHS 988 Planning Grant Team. The expectation is the development of a clear roadmap for Illinois to address key coordination, capacity, funding, and communication strategies for the launching of 988. The team is also expected to plan for the long-term improvement of in-state answer rates for 988 calls originating in Illinois.

Please note: in order to ensure efficient management of stakeholder involvement in the ongoing and evolving work of planning and implementing changes to the crisis care continuum, the 988 Key Stakeholder Meetings, previously convened as a component of the 2021 988 Implementation Planning Grant, are being consolidated with the CESSA Statewide Advisory Committee meetings, which are also held as public meetings. Consolidation will allow for more efficient use of our stakeholders time, as there is considerable duplication of membership across the two, and we are aware that many members of the public were joining both meetings. As it is relevant to the work of the CESSA Statewide Advisory Committee, IDHS/DMH will continue to provide updates around the 988 transition during each of these meetings, and members of the public will be able to provide feedback during the public comment section. Information on dates and links to join meetings will continue to be posted on the Open Meetings Page.
