Grant Making Timeline for Grantees

The dates are proposed milestones for applicants/grantees to evaluate their progress, resource requirements and determination; however, the data contained in each milestone are suggestions.

July through June

For current grants, invoices due monthly and PPRs/PFRs due quarterly.

In the GATA Portal, grantee begins the following: User Authentification, Grantee Registration, Verification of Pre-Qualification Status in Preparation of NOFO posting period.

February - March

Applicants look for NOFOs (posted to the Illinois Catalog of State Financial Assistance (CSFA) and

the IDHS website for 30 - 45 days).

Applicants can register (or update) and pre-qualify at www.grants.illinois.gov. Fiscal Year (FY) Internal Control Questionnaire (ICQ) availability is subject

to change.

March

If applicable, applicant will attend a technical session for NOFO offered by IDHS.

Applications, uniform grant budgets completed in the Community Service Agreement (CSA) and any program supporting documents must be submitted by applicants to the grant programs. (Tip: Ask a neutral party to review your application packet before submitting).

April

NOFOs closed. All grant applications/budgets and supporting documents should be submitted by applicants. Grantee exhibits must be uploaded into the CSA for review/ approval.

Applicant should make indirect cost rate election for the upcoming Fiscal Year. ICR election availability subject to change.

Grant programs have 30 working days to review application packets.

May

If approved, Grantee accepts NOSAs electronically from the GATA Portal.

Grantee reviews their contract, sign and submit the signature page to dhs.dhsoca@illinois.gov for processing.

June

Applicant/grantee receives a copy of their executed grant agreement from the Office of Contracts Administration

July - August

New Fiscal Year (FY) grant programs commence.

Lapse period begins. Final opportunity for grantees to remit payment vouchers to be paid from grant program year appropriations. Lapse period ends.
