Kane County Board Chair Corinne Pierog called the meeting to order at 3:03pm.
Pierog provided overview of the group's purpose to address factors that lead violence.

III. Introduction to Reimagine Public Safety Act
Dana Kelly, Illinois Department of Human services, Senior Public Service Administrator, provided an overview of the Reimagine Public Safety Act (RPSA), including the resources available to communities, the short and long term roles of the Local Advisory Councils and a current funding opportunity for youth development that is available on a rolling basis.

IV. Local Information on Statistics and Risk Factors
Michael Isaacson, Kane County Health Department, Asst. Director of Community Health reviewed National, State and local firearm violence data including demographics for Aurora, police and school data. There was discussion about desire to get more specific data about residents impacted by gun violence. Discussion about importance of working with all races/ethnicities with attention to specific needs. Discussion about importance of social determinants of health and looking upstream at environmental factors, historical factors, root causes, including childhood trauma, opportunities for our youth and supports for families.

VI. Discussion about Current and Upcoming Funding Opportunities
Chair Pierog led discussion about developing plan to apply for current youth development opportunities. Group discussed meeting frequency and desire to meet again in a week to finalize plans.
