PERSON-CENTERED PLANNING UPDATE: TRAINING DATES

Earlier this year, the Division of Developmental Disabilities engaged UIC to collect feedback, survey stakeholders and identify areas where we could strengthen the person-centered planning process. The result is An Evaluation of Person-Centered Planning in Illinois Adult DD Waiver Services. The Division requests that our ISCs and provider agencies attend the upcoming training series on the person-centered planning process. We also encourage individuals, families and other interested stakeholders to attend as interested.

DIVISION CHANGES

I'm sad to report that Cynthia SchierlSpreen, Bureau Chief of Bureau of Quality Management, will be leaving the Division of Developmental Disabilities effective May 31, 2022. Sandra Ross, Assistant Bureau Chief, will serve as the Interim Bureau Chief until we have a replacement. She will oversee operations and work in concert with Joy Decker and the BQM team to ensure a smooth transition. Please join me in thanking Cyndi for all her hard work and dedication to the Division over the past two years! Please direct BQM questions to Emily Hughes at emily.hughes@illinois.gov who will connect you to the right person!

STANDARD NURSING ASSESSMENT

Providers have requested a standard nursing assessment from the Division. We are currently reviewing a number of nursing assessments to find a document that meets the Division's needs. If you would like the Division to consider your organization's nursing assessment for the Division's standard template, please email your template to Jennifer.gentile@illinois.gov.

NCI STAFF STABILITY SURVEY

The National Core Indicators-IDD Staff Stability Survey is open for provider input. To date, we've only had 28 providers complete! The survey invite link has been sent directly to providers who employ direct support professionals (DSP) serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities age 18 and older. The information you provide is important to state policy-makers and advocates who will use the data to guide decisions. The survey asks about the status of your DSP workforce between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. This year's opportunity to be heard on this important issue will close June 30, 2022.

ILLINOIS VIRTUAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Applications are now open for The Illinois Virtual Leadership Institute! Starting June 9, this three-week online intensive leadership development program is designed for seasoned and emerging Illinois leaders.
