Persons confined to, or under the jurisdiction of, a federal, state, or local penal or corrections facility are not eligible for cash benefits. Persons under home sentence or electronic home detention can qualify for medical benefits. To qualify for medical the person must meet all other medical eligibility factors.

Persons detained or confined in an Illinois county jail, juvenile detention, Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) facility may qualify for restricted medical benefits limited to inpatient hospital services and related professional medical services rendered as part of the hospital stay. New textFor more information on medical eligibility for an individual detained in a corrections facility, see PM 03-23-01.
