April 21, 2022 DDD Communication

Good Afternoon,

I am so unbelievably proud to announce the Competitive Integrated Employment Capacity (CIEC) grant recipients below. This funding opportunity was the brainchild of the Employment Training Subcommittee of the Ligas Oversight Committee, which I chaired. As you all know, I am passionate about expanding employment opportunities for individuals with I/DD and I'm so hopeful that this grant will support these organizations to build robust employment programs. I am overwhelmed with joy by this announcement and can't wait to see the impact!

QUICK NOTES

FY23 BUDGET QUESTIONS OFFICE HOURS

We've learned through our Settings work that our Settings office hours have been a huge success! We have decided to use this same platform for other purposes. I will be holding a FY 2023 Budget Questions Office Hours on Thursday, April 28 from 10:30am to 11:15am. No need to register just click the link to join!

COMPETITIVE INTEGRATED EMPLOYMENT CAPACITY (CIEC) GRANT

The Division is thrilled to provide an update on the CIEC grant. Posted as a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) at the end of 2021, this grant seeks to lay a foundation of sustainable growth and success for agencies who are committed to developing a skilled workforce of professionals dedicated to assisting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to enter, and remain in, the workforce. It is my absolute pleasure to announce that, following a rigorous review of applications, 11 agencies (8 of whom are active 14c Certificate holders) will be funded through this endeavor. Each of the selected agencies will attack the high rate of unemployment for persons with I/DD through a combination of training, technical assistance, collaboration, outreach, placement and support. With statewide representation, these agencies will be increasing access to and supports for individuals with I/DD to explore and obtain competitive integrated employment. Congratulations to the following CIEC grant recipients!

  • Ada S McKinley
  • Centerstone
  • Coleman Tri-County
  • ComWell
  • Gateway to Learning
  • Illinois Valley Industries
  • KCCDD
  • Kreider Services
  • Marcfirst
  • Shore Community Services
  • The Hope School

COMMUNITY DAY SERVICES (CDS) BILLING ISSUES

For the past couple of weeks several providers have reported receiving lower reimbursements for some of the people they serve under the bill codes CDS - Community (31C) and/or CDS - Facility (31U). We have been researching the problem and believe the erroneous rate problem for 31C and 31U has been fixed in the CRS payment system. All CDS providers are advised to check their MOBIUS Remittance Reports for correct rates and reimbursements. Specifically, CDS providers should check billing and reimbursements for January, February, and March 2022. CDS providers should rebill if their reimbursements are incorrect. We apologize for the inconvenience.
