WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • CRSS & CPRS professionals who wish to increase their skills
  • Individuals interested in pursuing either the CRSS or CPRS credential
  • Supervisors of peer recovery support specialists and other CRSS or CPRS staff

CRSS SESSION 1: June 27, 29 & July 1

CRSS Overview .
Participants will:
  • Define what is the CRSS
  • Recognize steps to obtain the CRSS
  • Identify where individuals are in the process of becoming a CRSS
Trauma Informed Care
Participants will:
  • Define trauma and the impact it has on emotions, thoughts, and behaviors
  • Recognize the prevalence of trauma in individuals served
  • Develop ways to take care of ourselves

CRSS SESSION 2: July 11, 13 & 15

The Power and Importance of Inclusive Language .
Participants will:
  • Discover the power of our words
  • Discuss person-first, identity-first, and other inclusive language
  • Recognize the difference between the intent and impact of our words and silence
CRSS/CPRS Opportunities Panel
Participants will:
  • Obtain tips individuals can offer to others who are working towards achieving their CRSS credential
  • Identify how Recovery Support Specialists have utilized person first language in their work
  • Recognize the qualities that make a Recovery Support Specialist an effective role model
