Important Update on Sustainability Grants

Dear Community Mental Health Centers:

The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health recently announced $22M in capacity grants for Community Mental Health Centers. We are pleased to inform you that the grant application is now available online. Over the last few days, emails were sent to your CSA contacts informing them of the amount of funding your agency is being awarded. These amounts will need to be referenced in your application. Grants will have a start date of July 1, 2021 so that you may apply grant funds to expenses incurred back to the beginning of the fiscal year.

The name of this grant program is 999 Sustainability Grant. To receive your portion of the $22M allocated to this program, you will need to follow all normal non-competitive grant requirements which include completing and submitting:

  • a grant application
  • a budget in the CSA system
  • pre-qualification documents, and
  • risk assessments

You will also be required to have an Illinois.gov account and be registered in the applicable IDHS and State systems if you do not already have this access. Complete instructions, along with contact information, will be included with this grant opportunity posting on the website.

Thank you for your partnership in providing critical mental health services to the people of Illinois.

Sincerely,

David Albert, PhD

Director, Division of Mental Health
