SUBJECT: Neocate Formula Ordering

With the recent recall of Abbott's EleCare and EleCare Junior products, pharmacies may see an increase in demand of Neocate formula and nutritionals. Some participants who were prescribed EleCare have had their prescriptions adjusted and will now be coming to pharmacies with requests for Neocate products.
We received information from their manufacturer, Nutricia, recently, with ordering numbers for Pharmacies and wanted to share the enclosed table as a guide. Please make sure that all pharmacy staff and front facing staff at your store are aware of how to order these products. You may hare this guide with the stores as appropriate.
If you become aware of supply chain issues of any formula or medical nutritionals on the WIC APL in the coming weeks or months, please let us know immediately so we can work with manufacturers and make sure to send communication and guidance out to our WIC agencies.
