SUBJECT: Illinois WIC Vendor Administrative Rule (Appendix A) Change, Effective January 21, 2022

Effective January 21, 2022, the Illinois WIC Vendor Management Code (Ill. Adm. Code 672 et al.) has been formally amended to accommodate the changes in the Vendor Process that took effect with the statewide rollout of eWIC from the paper voucher system in Illinois, effective January 2021. The new rules will be published on or about February 4, 2022, in the Illinois Register which can be found at https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/index/register/home.html.  

All changes have been documented in the attached red-lined copy of the Ill. Adm. Code. The sections that have been repealed are addressed in the following sections of the current WIC Vendor contract:

  • 672.445 - Addressed in XII. AMENDMENTS
  • 672.450 - Addressed in XIII. ASSIGNMENT
  • 672.455 - Addressed in XIV. CIVIL LAWSUITS
  • 672.460 - Addressed in VI. VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL
  • 672.465 - Addressed in XVII. NOTICES
  • 672.APPENDIX A - No longer applicable

It is important to note that the Illinois WIC Vendor Management Code is the Appendix A of the Vendor Contract, and changes are fully enforceable as part of the contract guidelines.

Should any of these amendments be determined to be unacceptable by the Vendor, the Vendor may voluntarily withdraw from participation pursuant to Section VI of the Vendor Contract.
