The Illinois Commission on Poverty Elimination and Economic Security is working on a plan to eliminate poverty in Illinois over the next 15 years. We want to know how we can address the unique experiences of those living in and around Champaign County as we tackle systemic poverty in Illinois.
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, November 16th from 5:30pm-7:30pm for an in person and virtual listening session to discuss how poverty has impacted communities in Champaign County and the surrounding areas and how the State of Illinois can better serve you. We will discuss poverty as a system and address questions about key issues impacting those in our community.
The in-person event will be held at the Champaign Public Library at 200 W. Green St., Champaign, IL 61820. If you plan on attending in person, please email dana.kelly@illinois.gov or call 217-836-8176.
We encourage the attendance of all members of the community and to compensate those who attend for their time and attention, we are offering a $25 gift card incentive for those who participate. If you plan to attend virtually you can also receive the incentive if you fill out the accompanying survey.
Your feedback matters and will be used to help the State of Illinois create impactful policies to fight poverty.
Thank you for your time and participation! We look forward to seeing you on November 16.
