Youth Development Programming Capacity Building Technical Assistance Announcement

Illinois is experiencing historic levels of federal and state funding to meet the needs of at-risk youth throughout the State. Services exist for organizations that serve youth ages 5 to 24 that are looking to expand services, determine public funding streams that can support their work, and receive support in meeting the requirements for obtaining public funds. Afterschool for Children and Teens Now (ACT Now) and the Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY) provide both free one-on-one consultation and training and webinars to assist youth development programs in building their capacity to successfully apply for State funding. Examples of assistance include:

  • Writing a successful application
  • Learning about different funding streams
  • Grants Accountability Transparency Act (GATA) compliance
  • Assistance navigating government application prequalification procedures
