Agenda

Question for the Day:  During the Spring legislative session, the General Assembly passed a Medicaid omnibus bill which was later signed into law by Governor Pritzker (Public Act 102-0043). With input from DDD the bill asks for the Division to work with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services and stakeholders to study and then develop/implement a supports waiver, with a limited number of slots, specifically targeted at young adults with developmental disabilities. The waiver is to be submitted, subject to appropriation, by January 1, 2024.

The study is to look at the following components:

  • Age of individuals to be provided services;
  • Number of individuals to be provided services;
  • Services to be provided;
  • Funding to be provided to individuals;
  • Transition process to the Adult DD Waiver; and
  • Type of HCBS waiver to be utilized.

What thoughts do you have on this waiver and the various components?
