  • Only residents residing in a Supportive Living Facility (SLF) covered under the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) waiver qualify for SNAP. The waiver protects the status quo of residents who were already receiving benefits at the time of the waiver approval and allows these residents to not to be considered a resident of an institution. new manual textUnder the H.R. 6119, Further Extending Government Funding Act, Section 158 of Division A - Further Continuing Appropriation Act, 2022, extends the existing FNS waiver through February 18, 2022. The resident must still meet all other eligibility factors PM 04-05-00WAG 04-05-04, PM 05-11-02-a, WAG 05-11-02-a.
  • Living in a SLF for these protected residents is like living in an apartment, so SNAP rules about who has to be included in the SNAP unit apply PM 04-05-03. If spouses share a room, include both spouses in the same SNAP unit.
