Supportive Living Facilities (SLFs) that are included on the list in WAG 04-05-04 are covered under the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) waiver approval for SNAP participation. Only individuals residing in a SLF included in the list qualify for SNAP as long as all other eligibility factors are met.
SNAP eligibility ends when a person who is receiving SNAP benefits in the community moves into a SLF, which is not approved under the FNS waiver (WAG 04-05-04). Eligibility ends once the person is residing in the SLF.
Residents residing in a Long Term Care facility (LTC) or Shelter Care facility are residents of an institution and do not qualify for SNAP.
