Blind Services Planning Council

Description

The Blind Services Planning Council (BSPC) reviews actions of the Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) Bureau of Blind Services (BBS); facilitates communication and cooperation between agencies responsible for services to people who are blind and visually impaired; identifies the needs and problems facing such persons; and makes recommendations to the Bureau Chief, Division Director, Department Secretary, and Governor.

Membership

The BSPC is comprised of 11 voting members who are appointed by the Governor. The BSPC elects a Chairperson and a Recording Secretary from the members. At least six members must be blind.

Membership terms are three years; members may serve a maximum of two terms
