The DHS Division of Substance Use Prevention & Recovery (SUPR), formally known as the Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (DASA), provides inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment services. Individuals receiving these services can qualify for Food Assistance (SNAP/State Food) benefits if all other eligibility factors are met.
Persons in a residential drug or alcohol treatment facility can qualify for Food Assistance benefits as separate units from the other members of the facility. Persons in outpatient programs qualify with the people they buy and prepare food with and/or are required to be in the Food Assistance household.
