Dear HSP Individual Provider:

The Illinois Department of Human Services and Service Employees International Union, Healthcare Illinois Indiana (SEIU), are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of Individual Providers. We understand many of you have been thinking about COVID-19 vaccinations.

Front-line health care workers and long-term care residents are the first groups prioritized for the vaccine. IDHS and SEIU worked together to ensure that in Illinois, Individual Providers who work for Customers in the Home Services Program are considered front-line health care workers who are eligible now to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. We strongly urge you to get vaccinated as soon as you are able to do so.

To find out where you can get a vaccine, visit www.Coronavirus.Illinois.gov or contact your local health department.

If you have been trying to receive a vaccine but have been unable to obtain one through your local health department, IDHS is here to help. You can:

Some related notes:

An effective, safe, and easily accessible vaccine will help all of us return to normal. Getting vaccinated will afford you a critical layer of protection against the virus. Protecting you also helps protect your family and friends, especially those who may be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Please continue to be well.
