Require proof of the identity of the person making application for SNAP. If the applicant cannot prove identity, write in the case record that the applicant cannot prove identity and process the application using regular processing timeframes.
Waive other proofs when the SNAP unit cannot provide them within the expedited timeframe.
If a person asks for help in getting needed proof from a third party, promptly contact that party.
Acceptable documents to prove identity and residence include, but are not limited to a:
- driver's license or State ID card;
- work or school ID;
- voter registration card; or
- birth certificate.
