Good Morning,

QUICK NOTES

  • As of yesterday, the statewide rolling 7-day positivity rate was 8.7%.

  • Reminder to check out the new Information Bulletins on PUNS and SEP.
  • Last week the Division issued the final Guidehouse Developmental Disability Services Rate Study: Residential Services & Related Supports report. If you have any questions, please reach out to me directly.

CLARIFICATION ON ICF/DD DAY PROGRAM BILLING

What is the effective date for an ICF/DD to bill their own day program?

The effective date for billing is the date of the provider notice (11/24/2020).

What is considered sufficient documentation to begin billing?

ICF/DD's should get correspondence from the day service provider stating either they are not open and/or will not be coming on site to provide services. This should be kept on file and may be requested by the Division.

In addition, the ICF/DD should keep all documentation pertaining to the administration of their day program to residents of their ICF/DDs. This also may be requested by the Division.

All payments may be subject to a post payment audit and potential recoupment.

What will the payment be for services?

The billing will be the same as it would be if the day service provider was open. The ICF/DD should simply keep the funds rather than passing on to the day service provider. The rate will be the amount that would have been paid to the day service provider.

EMPLOYMENT PROVIDERS NOW ON THE DDD EMPLOYMENT PAGE

Great news! The Division is providing a list of DDD Supported Employment providers that also provide employment services funded by the Division of Rehabilitation Services (Supported Employment, Milestone & Customized Employment) on our employment webpage. We hope this list helps individuals with I/DD understand the options available to them when searching for an employment supports provider. Updates to the list will occur at least quarterly, and the date of the update will be noted in the document. If you are a DDD Supported Employment Provider and your agency is not represented on the spreadsheet linked below, please notify Casey Burke at casey.burke@illinois.gov. You can find the page here: https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=127996

DIVISION CHANGES

I want to let everyone know that Maureen Haugh-Stover will be leaving the Division of Developmental Disabilities effective January 16, 2021. Kathy Ward will serve as the Interim Administrator over the Bureau of Community Services. She will oversee operations and work in concert with Alicia Robinson, our new Regions Supervisor, and the Community Services team to ensure a smooth transition. Please join me in thanking Maureen for all her hard work and dedication to the Division over the past 16 years!

Thank you for all you do.

Warmly,

Allison
