Good Morning IDHS Colleagues,
More than 1,200 current IDHS employees have served or are serving in the United States military. Today, we join everyone in our state and country in thanking and honoring each one of you - and your families. We will forever be grateful for the sacrifices you and your family have made on the battlefield, at home, and around the world.
On Monday, Governor JB Pritzker and IDHS also announced that the State of Illinois will join the Governor's Challenge to Prevent Suicide, a national effort that champions mental health support and preventative services for Veterans. The State is dedicating $2 million to the initiative, in partnership with the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs (IDVA).

This is just one more way we can provide critical care and preventative services to our heroes. We thank our Veteran and currently serving colleagues again for your service and for your contributions to our national security over the years, today and every day.
