Hello. It's that time of year again when we at IDHS, along with our fellow State employees, are provided a collective opportunity to voluntarily support local charities throughout Illinois. The 2020 State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) Campaign is being conducted this year from September 23, 2020 through November 18, 2020.
2020 continues to be an extremely challenging year for us all. In addition to the work we do at IDHS, SECA provides another opportunity to support others, who like us, offer assistance to IDHS clients and to so many of our other neighbors in need throughout the State.
Information about the charities and payroll deduction forms (which can be filled out electronically) are available on the SECA website. Please note that while actual payroll deductions will not begin until January 2021, all forms must be completed and submitted before November 18th.
This year, there is a new platform, Giving Matters 365, which allows everyone to complete their giving process online. To complete the payroll deduction form electronically, go to the SECA home page, scroll down, and click the "Online Giving" box on the right hand side of the screen. Next, you will complete a brief registration process in order to access the SECA deduction form. Please note that on the Giving Matters 365 registration form, your ID should reflect the "Department of Human Services." Please also select the "Department of Human Services" as your employer. Once your registration and pledge forms are completed, they will be automatically submitted to the State Comptroller's Office for processing with your one-time deduction or on-going deduction(s) starting the pay period indicated during registration.
You can see a sample pledge form on the SECA home page, which can be viewed and/or copied. Please note that only the forms completed online via the Giving Matters 365 platform will allow you to complete the process for payroll deduction(s) electronically. Do not attempt to send a sample form.
Also on the SECA website, is a listing of Virtual Charity Fairs events.
We will be sending out follow up emails regarding our Agency's donation status as the campaign progresses. Whatever you can give, will help.
Thank you in advance for your consideration to assist those who are not as fortunate. If you have questions or comments, please contact the IDHS SECA Liaison, Sharron Matthews at: Sharron.Matthews@illinois.gov.
Sincerely,
Grace B. Hou
