Cash Certification Periods Expiring September 30, 2020 Through February 28, 2021 Extended 6 Months

Summary:

  • TANF and AABD cash certification period that expired September 30,2020 were extended for 6 months and will have an ending certification date of March 31, 2021.
  • TANF and AABD cash certification periods ending October 31, 2020 through February 28, 2021 will be extended 6 months.
  • TANF and AABD cash EDGs' that had certification periods previously extended will receive a redetermination form that will need to be processed by workers.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the extra burden imposed on workers and the TANF and AABD cash community and to better align with SNAP Policy Memo, Certification Periods Ending in September 2020 will be Extended dated 09/xx/2020, the Illinois Department of Human Services is extending the certification periods for 6 months on TANF and AABD cash EDG's that expired September 30, 2020 and those expiring October 31, 2020 through February 28, 2021. TANF and AABD cash EDG's that were given a previous extension in March 2020 will not have the certification period extended. Cash cases that had certification periods previously extended in March 2020 will receive a redetermination form. Workers will need to process the redetermination.

TANF and AABD Cash Certification Periods

IES will be programmed to extend the certification periods for all Simplified Reporting and Change Reporting TANF and AABD cash EDG's that have or had an ending certification period of September 30, 2020 through February 2021. The certification periods will be extended to March 31, 2021.

Example:

  • TANF cash EDG expired on September 30, 2020. The new TANF certification period is now March 31, 2021.
  • AABD cash EDG expires February 28, 2021. The new AABD cash certification end date will be August, 31, 2021.
