Today, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ADA. Thanks to the ADA, breakthroughs in education, employment, housing and health care have been possible for so many families who had been denied basic access for so long.
The Illinois Department of Human Services has a special responsibility to remember this day -- and to continue the march of progress in our State for Illinoisans with disabilities.
This Thursday, July 30, IDHS has organized a commemorative virtual program to honor the ADA and learn how it can continue to open doors in communities across Illinois. If you are able to join, please do. Click here for more information: https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=125626.
