As we enter the holiday weekend, I wish you and your families a safe and happy Fourth of July. July 4th commemorates our nation's declaration of independence from Britain in 1776. While we celebrate this, we recognize that independence and liberty are not universally available to all who live in this country. IDHS - you - help so many live out this aspiration in our state.
While we typically would be heading to parades, barbeques, and parties this weekend, this year is different. We hope you enjoy time with your family, friends, and neighbors safety and responsibly - and, please do not forget your masks and social distancing - so many people rely on you.
Thanks, as always, for your work and commitment.
