IDHS/SUPR Telehealth Training Opportunity
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) encourages organizations to use telehealth to provide treatment and DUI intervention services during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help navigate through current telehealth regulation and guidance, IDHS/SUPR has developed a training that summarizes how telehealth can be best utilized at your organization.
The two-hour training will review the national expectations established by SAMHSA, discuss the current IDHS/SUPR COVID-19 blanket exceptions and explore how these federal and state expectations correspond to Administrative Rule 2060 and the FY21 Contractual Policy Manual. The training will also explore how to use telehealth safely, how to follow confidentiality guidelines and how to support your staff in providing the best care possible for clients and patients.
Additionally, the webinar will introduce best practices and helpful tips to help your organization and staff deliver effective DUI and treatment services using telehealth:
- Components of crisis/safety plans
- Criteria for patients' participation in telehealth services
- Information for telehealth consents
IDHS/SUPR will share important resources and there will also be time allotted for your questions.
Training will be held on July 24, 2020 from 9:30-11:30 AM. If additional staff are participating on the same call line, please include the names in your email. You will receive an Outlook invitation with the information needed to join this webinar.
IDHS/SUPR strongly encourages authorized organization representatives (AORs) to share training information with critical clinical staff and support their participation in this important training. Registration will remain open until all training slots are full. IDHS/SUPR cannot expand the number of slots available for this training. Therefore, early registration is highly encouraged. The training is free and CEUs will be offered.
