2020 CRSS Competency Training


The Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health is hosting Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) Competency Training. Sessions 5 and 6 will be entirely focused on the ethics of the credential.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis the training will be held online this year. Click here to register.


  • Individuals who have the CRSS credential and wish to increase their skills
  • Individuals interested in pursuing the CRSS credential
  • Supervisors of CRSS and other staff in peer roles

  • Code of Ethics Overview
  • Professional Boundaries / Ethics Standards 8,14-15
  • Rights / Ethics Standards 10 - 11
Session 6 Modules
  • Job Duties / Ethics Standards 7 and 9
  • 7 Steps in Ethical Decision Making with real ethical challenges and how to work through them

The CRSS Training will be provided via WebEx. Once you register for a session you will receive your unique WebEx link via email. Participants will also be able to access the WebEx link after registration to download needed material and handouts for the sessions. There will be a separate WebEx link/email for Session 5 and Session 6.

Completing CRSS Virtual Sessions 5 & 6 will be the equivalent to having completed CRSS Day 3 in-person.
