Summary
- TANF certification periods will be extended 6 months for TANF cases ending March 31, 2020 through May 31, 2020.
- TANF cases that cancel effective April 01, 2020 because a Redetermination form was not received will be reinstated.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the extra burden imposed on workers and the TANF community, the Illinois Department of Human services is extending TANF certification periods and will reinstate TANF cases that cancel effective April 01, 2020 due to non-receipt of a Redetermination form.
TANF Certification Periods
IES will be programmed to extend the certification periods for TANF cases that have an ending certification period of March 31, 2020 through May 31, 2020. The certification periods for these cases will be extended by 6 months.
Example:
- TANF certification period ends March 31, 2020. New ending certification date will be September 30, 2020.
- TANF certification period ends April 30, 2020. New ending certification date will be October 31, 2020.
- TANF certification period ends May 31, 2020. New ending certification date will be November 30, 2020.
TANF Cases that Cancel Effective April 01, 2020
IES will be programmed to reinstate TANF cases that cancel effective April 01, 2020 due to non-receipt of the Redetermination form. These cases will have a TANF certification period of April 01, 2020 through September 30, 2020.
