Dear Providers,
To support ongoing efforts to keep Illinoisans housed during the COVID-19 emergency, the Illinois Department of Human Services has been authorized to release additional funding to our Emergency and Transitional Housing, Supportive Housing, and Homeless Prevention Providers.
As a current Homeless Services provider, your agency will receive an increase in funding equal to 5% of your current FY20 Contract. Please note for ETH and SHP, this additional funding is to be utilized to ensure continuity of essential services and to cover specific unexpected expenses in light of the COVID-19 emergency. This 5% funding is to be utilized specifically through increased personnel expenditures, emergency supplies, transportation, food, and other allowable expense justified by the emergency crisis. For Homeless Prevention, this 5% funding can be used to pay for direct client assistance (rent, utilities, arrearages) as well as personnel and supply costs allowed by program rules.
In particular, we hope that these funds will help to cover the additional staffing and overtime costs needed to meet the needs of your clients during this difficult time.
Please contact IDHS and/or your ETH program contact (Rodney Collins at Rodney.J.Collins@Illinois.gov), Homeless Prevention program contact (Darice Hannah at Darcie.Hannah@illinois.gov) or SHP program contact (Angie Campo at Angela.Campo@illinois.gov) if you have questions.
Thank you.
