IDHS Stakeholder Newsletter: Northwest NOFO and Subrecipients
Dear IDHS Stakeholders,
Last Friday, Oct. 18, IDHS announced a list of organizations selected through a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to serve as Regional Intermediaries in eleven of twelve statewide regions.
The Northwest region of Illinois, which includes Jo Daviess, Carroll, Whiteside, Lee, LaSalle, Bureau, Putnam, Henry, Mercer and Rock Island Counties, was not awarded a competitive grant in this round due to the lack of an applicant that met the necessary criteria. A new NOFO has been released to ensure every area in Illinois is fully included in the Census 2020 program.
The deadline to submit a proposal for the Northwest region is November 4, 2019 at 5:00 pm CT. I encourage eligible organizations serving the Northwest region to apply!
Also, over the next several weeks, Regional Intermediaries will select local organizations in their region for sub-awards. This will ensure funding reaches organizations on the front lines and best equipped to connect with Illinoisans in urban, rural and other hard-to-reach communities.
If you have not already done so, please indicate your organization's interest to serve as a subrecipient by completing the subrecipient survey. Please note, this survey is for informational purposes only, so that potential Regional Intermediaries and potential subrecipients can connect with each other. Survey responses, including contact information, are public on www.census.illinois.gov.
Please remember, organizations receiving funding for the Illinois Census effort must comply with the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA). Potential subrecipients must be GATA pre-qualified by the time they receive a subaward from a Regional Intermediary, which is anticipated to be in early November 2019. Please see links below on how subrecipients can become GATA prequalified.
We look forward to working with you to ensure a complete count in Illinois.
Sincerely,
Grace B. Hou
Secretary
