The Illinois Department of Human Services/Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is continuing to expand screening, assessment, treatment, case management, community intervention and recovery support for individuals with gambling disorders. IDHS/SUPR has added five new Gambling Treatment Programs, is seeking questions for a Q&A webinar about gambling screening and will be posting a new funding opportunity in September.

Five New Organizations Adding Gambling Treatment Services - IDHS/SUPR is pleased to announce five (5) new programs that will expand Illinois' capacity for treatment and intervention services for individuals with gambling disorder. We congratulate these agencies for being new award recipients and welcome them to the group of service organizations that will assist IDHS/SUPR in expanding outreach and treatment services for people who suffer from Gambling Disorder. Webinar for Gambling Services Billing Coming Soon - All IDHS/SUPR funded SUD treatment organizations are required to screen for gambling disorders as part of their intake process. DARTS has been adjusted to support reimbursement for this service effective July 1, 2019. Please forward all questions regarding screening and billing for gambling services to the IDHS/SUPR Help Desk at DoIT.SUPRHelp@illinois.gov by August 16. IDHS/SUPR will use these questions as a basis for developing a webinar for Gambling Services later in August.

New Funding Opportunity Coming in September - IDHS/SUPR will be posting another Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for further expansion of gambling services in September 2019. This NOFO will provide the opportunity for licensed SUD treatment providers to apply for additional funding to deliver gambling disorder treatment services. The NOFO will also provide an opportunity for other community-based organizations to apply for funding to provide aggressive outreach to populations and areas of the state that are most impacted by the expansion of gambling in Illinois. Please encourage organizations in your network, especially those that focus specifically on hard to reach populations, to review https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=114615 to get prequalified and to watch for the opportunity to be posted.
