Adult Protective Services (APS) PowerPoint and Second Webinar Opportunity

Dear Provider,

The Division of Mental Health sends out a big Thank You for spreading the word about the November 27, 2018 webinar sponsored by the Adult Protective Services (APS) which presented changes to the APS mandate that expand their investigations on abuse, neglect, exploitation and/or self-neglect to include persons with disabilities ages 18 through 62. There were about 125 participants from across Illinois.

As requested, the APS team has supplied the PowerPoint used on November 27th for reference and internal use (attachment).

We are also pleased to announce a second webinar opportunity scheduled for December 18, 2018 at 10 AM CST. Participants will hear from the APS managers directly and be able to participate in Q & A. Below is a link to for webinar registration.

This session will introduce you to the How and Why of Adult Protective Services, including what criteria need to be met to constitute a report of abuse, neglect, exploitation and/or self-neglect. In addition, the session will cover what happens after a report is received and what, if any, information can be shared with collaterals and the reporter. A question and answer period is allotted.
