Child care providers and clients are able to check the status of a payment for a specific case using a touch tone phone. Information available from the toll-free payment inquiry line includes whether or not the payment has been entered, whether or not the payment is approved by IDHS, and the date the check was mailed by the Office of the Comptroller. A client will not be given the date the check was mailed.

The toll free number is 800/804-3833.

The toll free number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Callers will receive the most recent payment information available. Payment information is updated once each business day at 4:00 a.m.

To access the system, a provider must enter either their Federal Identification Number (FEIN) or Social Security Number (SSN). A license-exempt provider (764-767) or a client must enter their SSN. Centers and licensed home providers will be asked to provide the client’s IVR case number. The IVR case number is the numeric version of the child care case number and is located on the certificate under the client’s child care case number. Providers may enter up to 5 cases per call.
