04.03.01 - Additional Child Care Costs

Policy Statement:

Participants are responsible for the payment of any additional child care costs imposed by the provider.

Applicability:

These procedures apply to parents and providers participating in the certificate program and site administered program.

Procedure:

Providers and parents are encouraged to develop a payment schedule if additional child care costs cannot be paid at one time.

Examples of additional child care costs are listed below. This list is not all inclusive.

  • Registration fees
  • Field Trip fees
  • Summer Camp Activity fees
  • Recreation fees
  • Enrollment fees
  • Activity fees
  • Late fees
  • Tuition
  • **Fees assessed for failure to give required notice of termination (2 week notice)

Parents enrolled in the certificate program are responsible for any costs charged by the provider that exceed the State rate. However, the State encourages certificate providers not to charge these parents more than the assigned copayment.

**The provider may only request payment from the State of Illinois up through the close of business on the last day the child(ren) attends.
