Request a WebCM Account
If you need a new WebCM account, you will first need to register for an External Illinois.gov Account.
Note that this is not the same as a "Public" Illinois.gov Account; even if you already have a Public account, you will still need to register for an External account.
- Go to https://id.illinois.gov
- Follow the link to "Create Illinois.gov Account"
- Follow the instructions provided.
- At the end of the process, follow the link to set up your "Recovery Options" so that you can recover your password if you forget it.
- The system will provide your Username, in the form of firstname.lastname or firstname.i.lastname.
- Email this Username, along with your WebCM User Agreement, to your DRS contact. (For STEP users, this is your DRS Project Officer/Advisor)
- Wait for your DRS contact to reply that your WebCM account is ready.
If you are unable to create an account because you don't have an Illinois Driver's License or the system cannot validate your information, email your name, address, and phone number to your DRS contact and they will submit a request to create the account for you.
Log in to WebCM
After your DRS contact has indicated that your WebCM account is ready, do the following:
- Go to https://webcm.dhs.illinois.gov/wcmsecure/wcm/
- Enter username@external.illinois.gov (where username is your Illinois.gov username from step 5 above, e.g. john.doe@external.illinois.gov)
- Enter the password you set up when you created your account at id.illinois.gov.
Reset your WebCM Password
Your DRS contact cannot reset your WebCM password. When you need to reset your password, do the following:
- Go to https://id.illinois.gov
- Click the link to "Reset your Password or Unlock your Account"
- Follow the instructions provided, but do NOT check "Unlock my account"
If you cannot reset your password, contact DoIT at the phone numbers or email address at the bottom of the id.illinois.gov pages.
Ask them to reset your External Illinois.gov Account password. Do NOT say anything about WebCM.
Troubleshooting
If you are having difficulty logging in to WebCM, please do the following:
- Confirm that you are using the correct WebCM address: http://drs.illinois.gov/webcm
- Delete anything that your web browser is automatically entering for User ID or Password. Type these in by hand.
- Close all web browser windows and try again.
If you continue to have difficulties after trying all of the above, email your DRS contact for assistance.
